Jellybabyz Childminding Service  where smiles happen everyday!

ABOUT ME

My name is Sarah McCutcheon and I run Jellybabyz from my home in the Glebe area of Washington, Tyne and Wear. I'm a registered childminder and have been described as 'caring and responsive childminder' by Ofsted.  I offer good quality childcare in a happy, welcoming and inclusive environment.

I have over 10 years experience working with young children and believe that children learn best through play. I offer fun, age-appropriate activities that ensures your child is stimulated, confident and happy in my care.

I live with my partner and 2 youngest children in a town house, which is shared by 3 cats, all of whom are fully vacinated and very accustomed to young children.  We are within walking distance of the local park and many other amenities.  I can pick-up and drop-off at Wessington Primary School, JFK Primary School and Albany Primary School.

MY BACKGROUND  & QUALIFICATIONS

I became a childminder in April 2011 and had my first Ofsted inspection the following September, where I was graded 'Good' in all areas.

Prior to becoming a childminder, I was the manager of a private nursery, ran a mother and toddler group and ‘Rainbows’ unit, established a craft-based holiday club and worked as an Early Years supply teacher. I hold a current Enhanced Criminal Records Certificate, safeguarding certificate and am also a qualified first aider.

I studied at Northumbria University for 3 years, where I recieved a BA (Hons) in Early Primary Education and gained Early Years Professional Status at Sunderland University in 2012.  As a dedicated childcare provider, I continue to attend training courses and conferences, in an effort to refresh and update my knowledge of current welfare requirements and child development.  As a result I have completed the following training:

  • Introduction to Childminding Practice
  • Safeguarding Children
  • Paediatric First Aid
  • Awareness of Child Abuse and Negelect
  • Sex and Realtionship Education
  • Domestic Violence
  • Helping Skills
  • Behaviour Management
  • Equal Opportunities and Inclusion
