Jellybabyz Childminding Service: Childcare that is simply 2nd to Mum!

ABOUT ME

My name is Sarah Hamed and I run Jellybabyz from my home in the Glebe area of Washington, Tyne and Wear. I'm a registered childminder and have been described as 'caring and responsive childminder' by Ofsted. I offer high quality childcare in a happy, welcoming and inclusive environment.

I have over 18 years experience working with young children and believe that children learn best through play. I offer fun, age-appropriate activities that ensures your child is stimulated, confident and happy in my care.

I live with my husband and youngest child in a town house, which is shared by 2 cats and a dog, all of whom are fully vaccinated and very accustomed to young children.  We are within walking distance of the local park and many other amenities.  I currently pick-up and drop-off at Wessington Primary School and collect from Oxclose Nursery School.

MY BACKGROUND  & QUALIFICATIONS

I became a childminder in April 2011 and on my last Ofsted inspection, in January 2018,  I was graded 'Good' in all areas.

Prior to becoming a childminder, I managed a private nursery, ran a mother and toddler group and ‘Rainbows’ unit, established a craft-based holiday club and worked as an Early Years supply teacher. I currently am a member of Girl Guiding and help run the local Brownie unit.

I hold a current Enhanced Criminal Records Certificate, safeguarding certificate and am also a qualified first aider.

I studied at Northumbria University for 3 years, where I received a BA (Hons) in Early Primary Education and gained Early Years Professional Status at Sunderland University in 2012.

As a dedicated childcare provider, I continue to attend training courses and conferences, in an effort to refresh and update my knowledge of current welfare requirements and child development.  As a result I have completed the following training:

  • Introduction to Childminding Practice
  • Food Allergy
  • Safeguarding Children
  • Paediatric First Aid
  • Awareness of Child Abuse and Neglect
  • Sex and Relationship Education
  • Domestic Violence
  • Helping Skills
  • Behaviour Management
  • Equal Opportunities and Inclusion

Philosophy

Your child will have the opportunity to experience a range of activities that are carefully planned to take account of their individual interests and needs.  Children are cared for in a loving home environment and are given every opportunity to develop new skills, practice what they already know and become independent and confident individuals.

Please feel free to contact me to discuss your needs or to arrange a visit.
